Hiper 350w PSU

Ii have this PSU laying around in the box doing nothing, reason being is my Geforce 6600 says it needs a min power of 300w and my current psu is 250w, so i buy a new psu with 350w but then my games just crash all the time, swapped psu back and my games run fine!!

The psu that works with games is a stanard 250w with my Compaq.

The psu i brought is a Hiper 350w

Is it any good? Or did the guy at the shop rob me??

Most generic PSUs are highly overrated. (they take the rateings at extremly low tempratures which increases the wattage). They also tend to have low amps on the 12V rail. For PSUs I recomend one of the following brands. Antec,FSP,Enermax, PC Power & Cooling,Seasonic. All of them are good. PCP&C is the best Seasonic is a close second (both of those are a little expensive) and the others are also very good.

Yea i now know which PSU's are good but at the time i didnt, so what im asking is, is the PSU i posted any good for a 350w???

It's an unknown generic brand so probably not.What's more important than watts for video is the amps(A) on the 12v rail. List them. It should be on the sticker.
