HJT Log - Fake virus warning

I have some kind of trojan dropper that has resisted all attempts to remove it. These include the steps listed on your boards like the online scanners and AdAware. I have already tried registry editing in safe mode and removed some of it, but there is still a small icon in my tray that says 'Virus Alert!' when I hover over it.

I'm afraid the only intries in your HJT log that need to be removed are all 016 (which you should have removed anyway according to the instructions).

Other than those your HJT is clean.

The Ewido alert claims it has already cleaned the infection.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run Ewido again and delete whatever it finds.

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Hopefully that should get rid of it.

Thanks y'all, I think it is gone now. Rebooting to safe mode and scanning seemed to work this time, though it hadn't before. Thanks again!
