I'm sure there is something nasty lerking in my pc somewhere as it has been a lot slower the last week or so...

The main reason your system is slow is due to the fact you`re running Symantec/norton and AVG both at the same time.

Run this Symantec/Norton removal tool.

Then, run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} -

O16 - DPF: {4CCA4E80-9259-11D9-AC6E-444553544200} (FixController Control) - http://h30155.www3.hp.com/ediags/dd/install/HPInstallMgr_v01_6.cab

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT and reboot your system.

Post a fresh HJT log and let me know how your system is running.

Done all of the above & it seems to be running faster. There was one more thing on the HJT log starting with 'O16 - DPF'. New log attached.

Your HJT log is clean.

Unless you`re having any other problems, you should be good to go.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.
