Hookin up M-audio keyboard?

Hi there, I bought my GF a M-Audio Keyrig 49 http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/KeyRig49.html

I'm having trouble getting it set up. Hookin it up to a laptop which is a Acer Extensa series running a core 2 duo T5450 etc

Now everything seems to be working EXCEPT the audio. Instructions say the audio card must be ASIO compatible.

So my question is the factory soundcard sufficient? I'm wondering if I just need a driver for the audio card (which I"m hoping) or do I need a whole new sound card?
