I've wished there was something like this available for a long time -
never have found anything, but there's so many things out there now
that finding anything is a stroke of luck.

I use Firefox and Yahoo.

First, IS there anything already existing to give return notice than an
email has been opened?

If not, how about some of the really savvy folks on this forum figuring
one out that would work with firefox and/or yahoo?

Cheers!

you are discussing a feature that DOES exist in Client Email software
(Thunderbird and others)

option->Return Receipt

The issue is the recipient can configure his/her system to Ignore, Prompt, or always Reply to the request,
so in Email there is no way to ensure you know it was
1) delivered,
2) read or
3) deleted w/o being read

Many web-based email systems also provide Return Receipt, but some do not.

Do you mean you use the Firefox browser and then access Yahoo mail?
If not, email related questions require the name of the email program being used.

Mozilla puts out the Firefox browser and also Thunderbird email but getting one does not mean getting the other automatically.

Yahoo has a browser and also a web-base email.

I remember years ago, AOL had a feature that enabled one to determine if their email recipient had opened their mail, but I doubt that's still around.
