I tryed to get "popular" equipment, seeing as though newegg's people comment's can't be reliable sometimes . Well....what do you think? Do you think this will be an alright gaming computer? Thanks :grinthumb !

Go with the 6800GS rather than the X800GTO. The 6800GS is better and it has Pixel Shader 3 which the X800GTO does not.

I am also not sure about the Power Supply. I think it is sufficient, but rather get someone else's opinion as I don't know much about PSU requirements.

Also try to get 2GB or ram instead of one as I assume you will be using this PC for a while and that will help with future gaming.

Sounds like a good system!

i agree with SCHUMIinSA go with the 6800GS graphics card and get 2gb of memory if possible, although 1gb of memory is ok.

The system sounds awesome, but I'd get at least a 400W PSU. Better be safe than sorry...also, better have more power now than needed and enough for future video upgrades, then having to get a new PSU with a future video card, for example.

Since the PCi-ex era has a long time to go, I wish you years & years of great gaming with this system :)

Get the x800gto.. It has 4 pixel pipelines that can be unclocked that the 6800gs does not.
The 6800gs is known to heat up.

It may be that the X800GTO can be unlocked, but I still does not have the same support that the 6800GS has. For example both games can play F.E.A.R on high, but the X800GTO does not fully support all the shadows in the game. The 6800GS however does.

Ok the 6800GS may not handle the game all that well, with all of the settings at max, but at least you have that option if you wish to try and use it. The X800GTO handle even worse though.

Awsome :giddy: ! Thanks guys for all of your support. I will probibly have this by next friday or so :unch: . I'll keep in touch about how it goes. Thanks :grinthumb !

Wait!!!

Make sure that the mother board that you choose fully supports upgrades for the future. I'm also interested in making my own AMD system, and I picked out the Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe board. This puppy supports all of the high-end processors and has SLi to boot. As an added bonus, it has some of the best integrated sound. (7.1) Make sure you check this puppy out before you make your final decision. :grinthumb

Hello. I was looking at the A8N-SLi Deluxe board, and i'm thinking about saving up 50 more dollars to get this board :grinthumb . It seems as though there are many people having problems with this boards bios, but even more people saying that this is a great board. I dont really know everything about bios, so i would like to get a board that isn't complicated when it comes to bios. Has anyone had trouble with this boards bios? It seems great, but i might as well not get it if i dont know how to set it up  . Thanks

set up bios...psh...most people only use the BIOS to change the way their computer boots up and the rest use it to overclock...I have 2 computers using this board and the BIOS is just like any other motherboard (I also have 1 MSI and 1 Soyo board)

straight to the point, the manual tells you what the options are and.....well it's not complicated at all.

I was looking at reviews on some of the DFI ( land part boards) that people were having trouble choosing between which bios's or bios programs to use. What does that mean :blackeye: ?
