How come my programs keep on crashing?

i can't figure out why my programs keep on crashing like i'll open up realplayer and it won't respond etc. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous programs but they are always not responding.

What version of Windows are you running? If it is XP, do you have SP2? what other programs crash? I need a little more info.
