when i put what you said in this is what it said "its not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Hm, well, sadly the only easy fix, would be to bring it to a local computer store that fixes computers if there is one nearby. Blue screen errors are usually hardware and unless you know what your doing or want to do it, it becomes a lot of work.

It could be faulty RAM, in which case you would need to buy more or just use 1 stick(if you have more then 1 now) In the command window type /chkdsk, after you type that you will need to restart the computer. (Sorry, I edited and fixed this, there should be a slash infront of the word)

If this doesn't work, try this: Right click on My Computer, go to Properties, then click the Advanced tab, at the bottom where Virtual Memory is, click Change, take a print screen by clicking PrtSc on the left side of the keyboard near the Number Pad at the top of the keyboard.

After you hit this button, go into the program Paint, hold CTRL and press V, This will paste the picture into it, if you can, please cut out part of the picture so it shows only the Virtual Memory window, now save this file. On the forums, do a post, and attach this picture, at the top of where your typing there should be smiley face, and paperclip beside it, click the paperclip, and browse to where you saved this picture and attach. Since it was a Page Fault we may have to change a setting in your paging file settings, and this is the best way to tell what is there.

ok i did the command thing and it completed the verification but it says errors found. CHKDSK cannot contine in read-only mode.

This is because the hard drive is currently in use and it can not check for errors. For this command to complete it must continue on restart.

I forgot to add one part to it. type /chkdsk /f it should ask Yes or No if you want to do this on next restart. press Y. Now restart your computer, it should restart then a light blue screen should come up and it will start checking for errors and fixing any it finds(if it can) after it is finished it will boot to windows.. See if it still gets blue screens after this. If it does, please take a screen shot of your Virtual Memory window as I suggested to see if it is set up correctly.

i tried that and it did not work but when i did the screen shot it is too large of a file to send no matter how small i make it

the blue screen hasnt been back yet... but normally after you do something like that wait about 2-3 days and normally their back so we will have to wait and see...thanks!

Ok, well try and force the blue screen to happen. Do something on your computer that causes it to use a lot of memory(big programs, games(not solitaire and such their small) But Movies, bigger games, stuff like that. If it blue screens during that, do it again, and again, see if u can cause it to happen this will narrow down what is causing it.

Updates are as follows: PC-Cillin removed by Program givin by me, RayBay if you would like to know what program and the command line to do this, I will private message you by request. One minor problem: PC-Cillin is still listed in the Add/Remove programs and cannot be removed. Additional problem announced over MSN: "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" Link to Microsoft website explaining problem: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=171003.

In this case, best solution is to download Mem Test 86 ( http://www.memtest86.com/ ) To get this program to work, you have to take the Floppy Disk one, place the files onto a floppy disk, or burn them onto a CD if you have a burner. To make the computer boot off of the CD or Floppy if the computer does not already do so, you have to restart the computer, press DEL, and a blue coloured screen will come up with options, if there is a BOOT menu at the top, go to that, if not, check for something to do with boot sequence, and choose to boot from floppy, or the CD drive. (TRY NOT TO CHANGE ANY OTHER SETTINGS!)

If you have errors while doing this test, then there is something wrong with the RAM. If you do not feel like doing the test yourself get someone who knows what their doing to do so (Someone from a local computer store) If there are errors, you will have to get new ram, or take out the bad stick (if you have more then 1)

Thank you for your explanation. We never have trouble removing PC-cilling because we use our registry editors to get rid of the hooks. Once the hooks are gone it is easily removed.
I didn't understand why you still had the hooks... but the result is the same. Different strokes for different folks.

For some reason her files were "still in use" If the removal tool does not disengage the process before trying to delete then it wont let it. The program I suggest ends the process and gives you permissions to delete the file. The program may have gotten corrupt in some way and for some reason, still been in use.
