OK well im going to install a sound blaster live and need help turning off my current onboard realtek sound card please help me thanks.

It would really help to know which motherboard you have.

Have you looked in the BIOS? Have you looked at your motherboard manual? In some cases it can be a jumper on the motherboard.

Field Value
Motherboard Name ECS PT800CE-A (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR, 2 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)

thats the name of my mobo

any one?the rsn im doing this is cause when i install my sound blaster live it freeze my comp i never turned it off from the bios i always turned it off from the hardware tab and some one told me thats the prob.

Most newer motherboard will auto detect that a sound card is installed and automatically disable the onboard sound. but it never hurts to disable it int he bios yourself. start your computer and hold the delete button while it booots. once iin the bios look under the periphials category, you should find the onboard audio listed there. if not look around. make sure when you exit you save the changes.
