How to fix resolution problems...?!

when i set my computer to 800 x 600 resolution, my screen image is bigger then my monitor allows me to see... it cuts off my time and start button... same thing happens when i try to play a game in 800x600 it cuts off some of the side. if anyone knows how to fix this please reply or contact me on aim at " i2yanT " thanks.

-i have a good graphics card, and all graphic card drivers are up to date. its been doing this since i got it from dell..

Have you tried to resize the image using your monitor controls? Depending on your monitor, this is either a manual operation or may be done automatically.

Do you have a CRT or an LCD display??

What are you in 800x600 for man! If it's all new stuff you should be looking at 1280x1024!

But just the same, sounds like the monitor isn't auto-adjusting itself. Use the controls like they said.

Go to your control panel

FIrst go to start control panel then go to your apperence and themes then go to change to screen resolution. This should help.
