    @looking around
    Thanks for replying back.. I checked my device manager... but there is no Imaging device category... when I plug my webcam in.. it only detects a multimedia audio controller in other devices... :-(

    Hello, please help if anyone can... I followed the instructions but can't find a driver for ...

    USB\Vid_0ac8&Pid_301b&Rev_0100

    @rattbagg

    That looks like a chip for a vimicro web cam. You might be in luck if you're still running XP or Vista (not sure if there's a Win 7 driver available).. Try the vimicro detection tool you'll find HERE and see if it identifies the vimicro device. The vimicro drivers are on that same page.

    Hey thanks for the speedy response! After much downloading (and most likely virus-filling) my computer, I think I'll ask my tech friend to do it for me. But thank you again and I will show him the message above

    USB\Vid_06a2&Pid_0003 matches a Topro USB webcam. The last model with it is a "Ixium Eye Webcam".

    Ahhh, now I understand your error. The web site link works but when one clicks on any of the driver download links on the site it fails with File or Directory not found

    @Mistar Angler
    HERE's a driver to a Topro webcam with the ID you reported. However, it's an old driver (and I think it's also an old webcam) so this driver might only work with XP. I don't know.... but worth a try

    Create a system restore point first before you try the driver (just in case). Unzip the download file to your Desktop then run Setup.exe.

    Hi:

    Thank you for the information you provided...

    I've have a webcam. The only info I could find on it was Microsoft. Couldn't find a driver for it on Microsoft.com.Following your info I could find the ID: USB\VID_045E&PID_00F7&MI_00\6&1B843395&0&0000
    However nothing when I tried Google & Yahoo.
    Even though I'm going to go back to Microsoft.com to see with this info if I could find the driver.
    Would appreciate any help.

    @francis Pierre

    Might you be using a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000?

    /* Edit */
    I'll save you the extra step.... Your Hardware ID makes me think you have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000. Find its drivers HERE

    Hello

    I followed carefully your guide in the hopes of finding the driver I'm looking for, however I couldn't find it even after 2 long days of insane googling/yahooing. I'v got to say that my searching skills aren't the best but I'v seen my hopes renewed while I was reading this thread. Going straight to the point: at the moment I have 2 webcams that simply dont work because I seam to be missing a driver known as " VGA single chip ". I looked for him everywhere, but he hides better than Bin Laden. I let you with the IDs:

    USB\VID_093A&PID_2600&REV_0100
    USB\VID_093A&PID_2600
    I wish you can turn this out into a successful story too,
    Thanks in advance!

    The USB\VID_093A&PID_2600 is a Samsung PLEOMAX PWC-2000, so you can try the driver for that.
    It uses a PAC7311 single chip camera from Pixart.
