How to play recent games with S3 prosavage ?

okay, i want to play my half life 2. problem? yea, thers one. i have an s3 graphics prosavage ddr....possibly the worst video driver to date, i have some old version, like, 6.14 or something, now how do i update it? i have installed the up date for version 13, but it doesnt do anything from there....help please?!

What kind of graphics card are you using? A driver alone doesn't tell me anything.

S3 ProSavage DDR is an unsupported/end-of-life integrated chipset, so S3 has discontinued support of this chipset.

The latest official drivers from S3 can be found at:

VIA Arena (a VIA chipset and integrated solutions website) has some slightly newer/beta-style drivers which you can obtain at:
http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/S3G_ProSavageDDR_winxp_v139433.zip

Both are fairly old (Feb 2005), but the latest available.

I'm unsure if you can bend Half-Life2/Source Engine into submission with this chipset, but it's worth a try. You may have to get crafty with your config... if it's even possible.
