I know that the Macintosh Print Services are not available except under 2000 Adv Server, but does anyone know an alternative to allow a Mac system to print to a Win2000 Professional share?

Assuming appletalk is installed, would you the printer be detectable from the Mac?

*i know this isnt the MAC forum* :slurp:

This may help a bit, I have my mac at work hooked to a color laser (un-networked) running on windows XP Pro at work.

We didn't use apple talk, we set up a standard work group with sharing the printer. I configure the mac to connect to the printer (OS X 10.3) using it's ability to hook to a windows work group's (no Appletalk). The other printer in the office is hooked to the mac via straight IP.

How about for older Mac OS 9? Can SAMBA be used?
