I`m not sure what it is you`re asking.

when you say remove programmes. Do you mean uninstall them, or just stop them?

When you say close box. do you mean the task manager?

Please try to be as specific as possible.

    Regards Howard :)

When you press Alt Ctrl Delete and a window pops up that shows a list of
programs that are running. I want close the programs in that list that are
not that important and keep only the important programs running....
Here is a pic if it still isn't clear to what I am referring to.
(I had to crop a bit so it would be under 100 kb)

Highlight the program and click 'End Task'.

OK. What OS are you running?

    They start from different places.

    Right click the Start button.

Click Open | Programs | Startup - if any you wish not to start remove their shortcut.

Some will have the option in the program itself - "start with Windows" or similar.

See how far you get with this.

If you click start, then run, and type " msconfig" without the quotes.

A window will appear. Now click on the startup tab. You can now disable any programmes that you don`t want to run on startup.

After you have finished click apply/ok and restart your computer.

After you have restarted, a dialogue box will appear saying that you have used msconfig to make changes. Tick the box that says do not show this message agains etc.

    Hope this helps.

  10. Tedster Techspot old timer.....

just click on the tab that says processes and it will show what programs are running. Be careful what you stop. Some programs are internal to windows.
