how to start with dos right after post?

My win2k os is broken. I intend to reintall win98; however, I was not able to boot into any os to install win98 through cd because my win98 doesn't have autorun file with it only setup file.

How can I install win98 without os?

I don't know if the problem is from my hard drive's configuration, the FORMAT C: command can't proceed.

When you boot from the floppy, do an FDISK first to show you the current partitioning (if any). You could then delete and make a new partiton, set that active, then format it.

fdisk didn't work, either.

I have tried it before format. I got same message. My filesystem is fat32 and has 2 partition in it, but fdisk and format are not able to proceed.

Could it be you're trying to format a large hard disc with an old version of fdisk?
