How to uninstall Symantec programs effectively

hi, i've had it with norton and i want to uninstall all programs related to it..
how do i cleanly uninstall the program?

i've also downloaded the free Zonealarm firewall.. however, whenever i try to open IE or FF, it blocks all traffic and can't get into any website. what settings do i need to use for this?

The method for completely removing Symantec products depends on which versions you have.

There are manual instructions HERE and automatic HERE

As for Zone Alarm go into program control and make
sure FF,IE and Generic Host Processes for Win32services(svchost.exe) have two ticks under access.
