HP Compaq dc5100

I have an old HP Compaq dc5100 Tower and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading? It currently only has 512 MB of RAM; I'm sure that I could put at least 4 in it.. I have not yet taken it apart. I don't have any genuine windows or O.S. on it at this time... I'd like to run Windows 7 or 10 I recently bought a refurbished computer with 4 GB RAM and its not cutting it for me. 100.00 wasted... Not a lot as I paid much more for my laptop and I couldn't even get a genuine windows for that little. I'm looking for something that works well... What is this thing capable of? Is it worth upgrading or should I just recycle it?
