Dell d510

Hi,

first time poster here.

A common problem, I've read through the thread (took a while but worth it), just a couple of queries, but firstly the symptoms:

Laptop is a D510, which I recently replaced the mainboard (ebay, naturally), the new board has the bios locked (setup and admin, not HDD) ~ so boots up, but I now want to rebuild, however the boot sequence is to only HDD.

Service tag is #GJ1S62J-595B.

My queries, I have the DSTCD - will this remove the service tag, and therefore the passwords, or am I best to pursue the 'paperclip' short method?

Also since the boot sequence is locked to HDd only, will removing the HD force a boot to CD?

All help gladly welcome

cheers

Karoop

try f12 during the dell post screen to access the one time boot menu and see if you can choose to boot from a cd from there.
else you could take a hard disk, make it to boot into does and copy all files from dst cd over. then run svctag.exe from hdd. last option would be paperclip.

good luck and post back what worked for you

LOOK HERE LOOK HERE ................

I have had my laptop bios passworded by my teenage son messing around and he does not know what he actually typed in now.

I have dell lattitude d620 and have searched for weeks online to get it soted out with the bios but I know that I am sick of seing fellow computer users wanting to charge far too much for a generated serial number.
I would pay a fair price for the software, but not loads of cash for a simple number.

The program is out there online and maybe we could all start doing a search for it and stop these money hungry rippoff sellers of the serials from making any more money out of something they could share with the world for free even.

does anyone know the actual name of the software?

Dell lattitude D620
My service tag if anyone can please help me with clear mybois password is

Thankyou very much in advance

DELL Bios Master password program here

There are load and loads of your fellow computer users out there searching for a solution to gain access to thier Dell bios with the 595B service tag.

Help them if you can by naming the program that generates the number.
Name the program if you know it?
provide it if you have it, Share it please.

Stop the nasty people out there charging loads of cash to email a generated number and ripping us all off.

This program is out there and will be online somewhere... if we all do a little searching, then maybe one of us just might find it...

We already know that some of you reading this will be trying to unlock a stolen laptop but your day in jail will come.
As for the rest of us, good luck

thankyou

Dell D600 Bios Password

Hello,I just bought this Dell D600 yesterday and i has a gray screen that says it`s password protected i've read about jumping the Eprom chip and the only chip that i can find is a 24lc256.Which i tried that with no luck. Is there someone out there that can give me the password for this?

4HK6P61-595B

Thanks For you help.

andbaxt,
if you are the registered owner of the laptop, call Dell and be prepared to pay something to have the password removed. Have your son pay the charge. He may learn not to mess around with passwords again, without carefully writing the password(s) down

I've been trying to find it for some time now
I have this huge Dell folder with txt/pdf/picture documents, utilities, stacks of links; pics of internals and everything on chips. But no 595B program

Yes I agree it exists.

As a first approach, I contacted Dell too see if it's legal to gain
They said sorry but we can't redistribute it openly (Why Not?) Even MS supply the Windows password removal feature, but Dell seem to think it's somehow profiteering for them to hold onto it
Once I do get it, I'll be posting it worldwide, including all over Dell's boards. Be aware it is not illegal to have it in you pocession, except that it is likely copyrighted and owned solely by Dell (without redistribution)

So that brought me to contacting the sharks that actually do use it (and are not using it from Dell's support area)
They informed me that they have made (programmed) their own, and that due to this, they believed they could ask for payment of service.

So back to Dell I go, and inform them (as they obviously knew anyway) that you (Dell) are forcing others to pay exhaubarart (spelling?) amounts for something that should be free anyway, I also pointed out that some master passwords were available for other models anyway, and freely obtainable.
Again No, sorry cannot help. But we are happy for you to use these sharks if you wish, at your responsibility. (obviously) Informing them again that this private service is in hundreds (if not thousands) of locations all over the web. And that anyone could use this service at high cost. Therefore, making this program freely available would be wiser, and will probably make more users come to your site signing up to download it (even at a small cost - note the present cost at Dell is $39, but you can't have the program, just the master password).

By the way I don't own a Dell.

So off I went searching, and searching. Accumulating stacks (as mentioned earlier)
But I cannot find it (and I take pride in being able to know how to search absolutely everywhere) But still no. I can't believe that all these companies (and single private owners) are so tight. Even Windows itself was hacked. But not this!

So my only option is to wait until someone does either torrent, or ftp or put it way back in a website somewhere (pretty sure it must be under a different name too, like log.txt or something stupid)

So do me and everyone a favour, and contact Dell, and state that they are causing way more angry users than happy ones, in regards to users password protecting their systems, that only pulling the damn thing apart and shorting pins can remove.

Ofcourse the response from others, will be make your own (takes about 3 months to do!) and then give it away. (thinking that I probably wouldn't)
Why, it's already made by Dell. And no doubt most are using the Dell one anyway.

Just post it!

$$$ Dell Latitude D510 BIOS password reset

I read through about a thousand posts here and I'm still unsure of the proceedure to crack the BIOS password.

I noticed some people posting their service tags.
Is there some kind of keygen that will give you a new password when you enter your service tag, or...?

ell, I'll even pay for it.

No I'm trying to get that from you!

Also this post belongs in the Mobile password removal thread, as you know

Actually "Helping Those In Need" has fallen on deaf ears, don't you think :haha:

lol :)

I just spent another hour searching for this thing (gen. 595 bios)
I really get determined!

I even went to itsy bitsy websites
Arghh!

There is none more difficult to fix than the Latitude D620... and many are ruined in the try.
Send it to Dell, after you updated your registration. $36 plus shipping is what most pay... If you are not the registered owner it takes 21 business days before that registration change takes effect.

even though I wonder how your son can forget something he had to type in twice I'd say follow TMagic650's and raybay's advise and call dell.
plus, there is no such software available for download in the internet. some clever guys got hands on a keygen or even built it themselves but the rest is a secret of the dell engineers... :)

if this program will be free, bios password option will be useless. To make no sense at all.
I have this program for 595B and other tags, but I not going to post it anywhere. I also going to do such service for small fee :)
But I'm too lazy to make web service and I can't trade it on ebay. So you can only complaining to existing expensive services due to your own forgetness :)

Well I have to reply to that! (hpgl that is)

It's already useless, ie you have the generator (plus I believe two other members on TechSpot) And I have the shorting info (So those eBay websites won't make much!)

How can I persuade you to depart with it, or at least give me the size of the program itself. I'm sure it's archived somewhere

By the way, you do realize that Windows passwords are easily removed. What's the difference? Actually Dell will also remove it for quoted $36 (it's comming down!)

What's your price?
You can PM me if you feel that you may be victimized.

i think moderators must kick such selfish members
Not yet, I want the program first !

It no useless until this program owned by very few persons.

size of program:
very first version assembler coded have 2.5kb
current version C written about 8kb
Difference between Dell BIOS and Windows is BIOS much less interesting than Windows.
I think about price $10-$20 for example, but do you really want to use such service?

Well no, I personnally don't have a need for it. Except to help a few thousand or so, and to add it to my Dell folder of utilities)

But that price, is that for the program, or the service?
I have never heard a service this low. And I'm not sure how to respond, maybe Dell is ripping us off. !

nickbunt you cannot ask for payment or paying others for service on TechSpot

I hear your frustration, but you must edit you post immediately
