HP Digital Webcam/Blue Screen Shut Down

I just bought an HP Digital Webcam (pp136a#aba)

The driver cd would error on my computer (acer aspire 5050 3371) so I plugged in the cam, and windows Vista located the driver online and downloaded it.

Yet, when I use the webcam...after about 15 minutes... my whole screen turns a pixelated blue and shuts down and restarts the computer. When restarting...it tells me windows didn't shut down properly and does a troubleshoot thing....the error says "stop thread stuck..." something...

it tells me to try two options... 1, download the latest up to date driver for my video card from Windows Update if any are available... and 2, turn my hardware acceleration to none.

I did the first, and I have the latest drivers from what I can see.

I tried to turn my acceleration off..but when I go to it, it has no bar for me to slide.... it says "Your current display driver does not allow changes to be made to hardware acceleration settings."

So, what do I do?? Any clues.
