HP Probook 6560b Wireless not working

I have this laptop only about a year now, and I use it for college, and things like League of Legends. I dont use it much at all. For the first about 9 months, it only worked with wireless, so I installed drivers so I could use wired internet. When I did this, wireless stops working completely, and it says "no networks are currently available". I recently moved into my own place and don't have access to wired internet, so I really need to be able to connect to wireless. Any suggestions? I have tried switching on wifi on my laptop but the button remains orange. The only device in my network adapters in device manager is 'Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection', I've tried updating drivers and nothing will work. I also have a disk called "Wireless USB Adapter" which I have tried install but it says it's already installed on this pc. Any help is greatly appreciated as it's been 3 months now.
