And I thought they were the best. I tried to return my 9600xt. They don't have my brand of 9600xt stock, and without even contacting me, they've already shipped a 9600Pro instead. They could have at least sent me another brand of 9600xt. Not cool, not cool at all... :( I'll have to call them in the morning, but either way, this spells hassle for me. Anyone had problems like this before. I've had a few, but they've always had to do with vid cards (that's why I put this here).

try www.NCIX.com theyre canadian but i believe they ship to US too
as u can tell the only disadvantage will be a bit higher shipping charges cuz its going all the way down south heh

I've bought from both Newegg and ZipZoomFly and will again (both). They both evidently keep an eye on each other's prices because even when you take shipping into account, their prices are remarkably close for most things. Lately, Newegg has been edging ZZF on prices generally.

It would be hard to beat Newegg on shipping speed, though. With standard shipping I usually get items two days after ordering. Recently, I ordered an item on a Monday afternoon (Pacific Time) and received it the NEXT day with plain ordinary standard UPS shipping. Obviously, depending on your distance from the warehouses, your delivery time will vary.

Yeah, I've bought from most of the sites mentioned above (I have a computer repair business, I go through a lot of parts). And don't get me wrong, I'll still continue to purchase at newegg. Their service up until now has been great (except for one other time). And considering the amount of orders I've placed there, I should have expected this kind of thing to happen sometime. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Did you call them? Was there any resolution of the problem?

Yes, I called them. They said I would just have to send the card back, and they would replace it with the card of thei choice. I said no way, Rosewill promised a refund and considering newegg will be refunded by rosewill, I feel that is only fair. So now they're going to give me market value for the card. Interestingly, they took the card (which was currrntly on backorder status) and removed it from the site completely, but I wondered if they might do that, and printed the page, so they couldn't just name any market value they pleased.

I had no problems with NewEgg's RMA policies

I bought two Biostar mobos from them and one was DOA. I went back to the website and logged in and went to my account then chose to request an RMA Refund as I bought a PC Chips board to replace the DOA Biostar.

Within two days they issued a refund to my credit card with absolutely no problems.

I absolutely love NewEgg as I live out in the boonies here in Hawaii and there are no real computer stores on the Island I live on (the one with the active volcano). If I order Sunday evening, I get my parts by Thursday morning. The fastest they've shipped was on an order of two hard drives on Monday morning 10am. FedEx was knocking on my door Wednesday morning 8:30am.

Wow!

Yeah, their shipping used to be great. But now they've switched to UPS as their main carrier. You can still get FedEx Super Saver shipping but it will cost you an arm and a leg. And while I'm not sure about where you guys live, but where I live UPS is much slower than FedEx. Newegg still processes fast, but their carrier stinks.

shipping always an issue here in Hawaii

Here out in the most isolated port in the world (yeah no kidding) FedEx and UPS will only ship out via the air courier service, so we have no option. But when comparing the two, FedEx is typically 40% cheaper than UPS on their 2nd day air service.

I wish I could take advantage of the super saver shipping rates but alas Alaska and Hawaii aren't included.

I guess I'm fortunate that I live in Southern California where there is a Newegg warehouse. Most standard shipments regardless of carrier arrive the next day if I order in the morning, although once I ordered on a Monday afternoon and it still arrived the next day, Tuesday.

I've noticed that sometimes Newegg will leave a product listed with an out of stock note and sometimes they will remove it completely. Other times it will be listed as out of stock for awhile and then it gets removed. Not a big deal either way. I wouldn't read too much into it necessarily.

I've been buying from New Egg for several years and I've only had one minor problem with them over a mother board. I attempted to call them once, that was a big mistake but they did make good on the mobo.

you folks are so fortunate...well maybe

shipping costs are what make Hawaii's retail prices so high (typically 20% higher). But it's something we live with, it's called the price of paradise.

Oh well I guess I should be greatful sitting here in my shorts and tanktop with the ceiling and desk fans running and the screen door wide open to catch the ocean breeze off the North Pacific. Right now it's just past 9:30 in the morning and the temperature is hovering around 76-degrees F. Should get up to the mid 80's by lunchtime.

I live in VEGAS, and you're makin me shiver- pay the shipping and smile!! ;)

Mail order or walk in prices are close

we pay such high prices here in Hawaii that whether you walk into a store like CompUSA or buy mail order from NewEgg, the prices are pretty close. It's when you buy in quantity that mail order pricing is cheaper. Thank God for FedEx. I'd say the same for UPS but FedEx 2nd day air service is generally 40% cheaper than UPS 2nd day air to Hawaii.

Shivering in Vegas huh? About this time many of us here in Hawaii make our Winter Solstice pilgrimage to Vegas to support your local economy. So many of us go up annually that when my dad went up for the first time he was worried. I told him that he'd probably bump into someone he'd know from Hawaii (we have over 1-million residents here).

As it turned out at the same table in one casino he sat between two men; my boss (who was vacationing) and our neighbor. Yup seems Vegas is the retirement home for Hawaii Expatriates.

Reformed gambler

sorry I'm a reformed gambler so you can keep your tables...however you're more than welcomed to help support Hawaii's local economy and can visit us here in Paradise anytime! Just pack your own milk...there's more than one white stuff that costs an arm and a leg here. Oh yeah and gas too.

I'd like to give a positive view of Newegg. I just had a six month old Enermax power supply go out and I got an RMA number over the internet, shipped it out the next day to them. The second day after they recieved it, they sent out a replacement by next day FedEx. And all this was during the holiday season.

After buying quite a bit off stuff from Newegg, this is the first item that that I've ever had a problem with, and I hope the last. Anyway, I am quite happy with the way this was handled.

ye... am i cant believe Newegg.com, they wont send me the nzxt Lexa grrrrrrrrrrr..... Doin my head in....

Yay, Newegg!

I discovered Newegg slightly late, as I ended up having problems with a couple of other sites' policies (TigerDirect, chiefly). Returns, RMAs, shipping, and customer service have all been exemplary! Some may be as good, but, IMHO, there is none better. :bounce:
