I have a trojan. How to get rid of it.

The damn thing is embedded in my system volume informaation forlder, which is usually a hidden folder. When i click it, the folder is apparently empty. However, my antivirus says its there, and its embedded. How do i get rid of it?

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Then run your virus scanner again.

I also suggest you go and read both these threads by RBS. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Only post a HJT log, after doing the above.

what do your anti-virus and multiple anti-trojan programs say?

Im using avg free which told me i had a trojan, and stinger, which dint tell me anything. I have no other programs on my computer except ad-aware, and microsoft anti-spyware beta. which will be upgraded to windows defender.
