I have an LG Flatron Slim monitor......after booting up the screen shows a message

Hi
i have a LG Flatron Slim monitor and once i boot up, i recieve a message "Analog Power Saving Mode" then the screen turns black.
the monitor still has power to it and the computer is still running, but thats all , i can't open windows or even get to my desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated
