I used some boot 'n' nuke software on one of my old computers and now when i start it up it says that i have no operating system... (not the problem)

I also says that i need to insert an ASR disc :( (automated system recovery) but i do not know how to get one?

Is there a website i could go to or must i buy one of these?

Thank You.

Is your system a Dell/Gateway or something like that?

Do you have a windows CD, and have you tried booting your computer with it in?

Are you able to get into Bios?

Welcome to Techspot by the way!

I use windows XP proffesional edition on my Acer laptop, well the problem is i lost all of my copyright XP stuff... long story.

So i booted up with a cracked copy of win XP pro and it asked me for the ASR... don't know if i have helped you source the problem anymore! :bounce: , but i also do not use dell/gateway either :( .

Thank for the welcome message...
This is one of the better tech sites if have been to that is for sure  .

Sounds like you need to contact ACER and get a boot disk with all your drivers ( you may be able to download this from their site), as well as a new (legal) copy of windows XP.

You shouldn`t be using an illegal copy of Windows.
