    I know im not suppose to ask about overclocking, but i really need to know :
    how far can i overclock my AMD 64 Athlon 2800+ without frying it?? :angel:
    (im using the included fan and heatsink....)

    You aren't supposed to ask about overclocking in this forum. We have a forum dedicated to such things, "Cooling and Modding".


    More to the topic at hand, you need to supply us with some information:

    1) What motherboard make, model and BIOS revision do you have?

    2) What other components, most importantly what type and speed of RAM, do you have?

    i have an ASUS K8S-MX mobo
    not sure what bios version(think its v1010)
    I have 512mb DDR400

    also, how much you can push your chip depends on your particular chip as well, as each individual chip has very minute imperfections in it, so another 2800+ may be pushed higher than yours in the exact same environment.

    So basically asking "how much can I OC" will only get you a rough estimate, only through OCing it yourself will you find the answer.
