Ok, we have a 6% and 12% on total fragmentation. I HATE having that much/any fragmentation. My question is what is the best one. I think I may download Diskeeper Light, but I don't know. Any reccommendations? (Free stuff only).

Have you considered the Windows defragmenter? You can find it by going to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.

    Diskeeper light is fine.

Before defragmenting, always run CCleaner or some clean up utility,

    and EMPTY the Recycle bin.

You don`t really need to defragment, until your system is noticeably slower.

I have used the windows defragmenter a lot, and it doesn't work as good as I would like. Is Disk Cleanup (Windows) good enough? I use it a lot. I just like keeping it defragmented.

Windows Disk Clean up is ok, though not brilliant.

I agree with Po`Girl, Ccleaner is the better option.

Instructions for using Ccleaner can be found in step9 of this thread HERE.

I also agree that Diskeeper lite is very good.

howard, using ccleaner will delete my saved form data, wont it? i would like to keep that. how do i stop that? also, how do i stop my dad from having to put the zip code in rvery time i do this (at lowes.com/homedepot.com)?

Ccleaner will only delete your saved form data if you tell it to.

Under the Windows tab, simply untick Saved form information and under the Applications tab, untick Saved form information.

    Regards Howard :)
