I need help my computer keps crashing

well here goes. my coputer just keeps freezing after a while when i play and games or music and changed my windows three times. 1st it was xp home edition, 2nd xp pro, 3rd vista.
i realy need help and this has been going on sice like 2 months ago

my computer is a packard bell ipower 6610
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ processor
1024 mb DDR system memory
2 hard drives of 250 gb SATA each (7200 rpm)
SLi - 2 x GeForce 6600 gt/ 128mb ram
DVD
DVDRW dual +R9
