i need some advice on how to get rid of my background

Some adware crap got on my comp somehow and made a website as my background....i cant go to properties to change it or anything ive scanned for viruses and things like that nothing comeos up. whats wrong and what can i do?

you probably need to download hijackThis and run it and post the log for one of the HijackThis guru's to look at. aside from that I would open task manager and look in processes and see if their is a new process running if you can find it and disable it then you might be able to change the background. ( of course you will still need to be able to delete the programm doing this.)

I would also suggest downloading and installing WinPatrol a freeware program that will monitor your machine and PREVENT things like this in the future.

To help you out temporarily, find mshtml.dll and rename it to mshtml.ddd or something.
Reboot and you should be able to change the background.
Note any programs that protest or act 'funny' and start there with the problem search.
You will not be able to use IE, so get Firefox instead.
