I reformated my computer, deleted the partition then formated on it (windows XP professional). It went to 100% and loaded anthoer screen where is was copying files or something. That bar went to 40% adn computer restarted. Then i get a error saying NTRDL is missing. I tried formatting 3 times now, the third time is when i noticed it stopped at 40%.

Is my cd messed up or is the ntrdl due to other reasons?

you may have a defective cd.... i would first try cleaning the cd....

also why did you decide to format the hdd in the first place, as it may have some bearing as to why your reinstall is not working....

Replace your RAM cards and then try doing it again.

Cylinder 0

Is your Cylinder 0 or Sector 0 of your harddrive wrong? Defect?

Might try not to just format, but to repartition completely, some virusses even can survive formatting...
