I/O error

By argen
Apr 15, 2006
  1. I could not open my USB files, instead I get the following message "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"
Can anybody help me to identify this error and how to sort it out?

    Many thanks in advance

    -try on a different port
-try on another pc. if it doesnt work there its dead. (or at least screwed)
-goto [right click my computer>manage>disk management] try and find it there.
-goto [right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager] goto your USB section onthe bottom. uninstall evereything. reboot. reinstall whatever hardware wiz picks up tehn plug in your USB device
-if you are using win98 get teh correct drivers for it....

i'm going to sleep soon so be patient.. i'm sure someone else in another time zone will help you out..
