I need information of viruses from system sector virus, file virus and macro virus and a index of the names of the viruses and what thread, risks it poses!

thanks.

Hi,

May I recommend the following sites. They have relatively large databases of malware, as well as legitimate files and windows processes that you conduct search in.

Bleeping Computer File database

Often times, an infection can occur again not due to the incompetence of programs, but because of user habits. For some prevention tips, do check out this article.

google the file name helps a lot.. and gives many clues whether its a legit file or not. Also, AV companies like Sysmantec, AVG, etc have their own databases of virii and malwares they encounter, usually with full description and removal instructions...

EDIT: Here's a guide that will help you somewhat.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_virus just click on the links if you want more info on other subjects..
