  1. Alright, been going through this forum over and over trying to figure this out so I dont have to post a thread like everyone else about the same topic, but this damn this is buggin me more and more and more.

Posted my logs from the programs. I have run, ComboFIX and VundoFIX and neither have fixed the problem. I have done ComboFIX in safemode but never bothered with Vundo because it didnt find anything anwyays when it did its scan.

Please let me konw what is left, I do not want to go to FIREFOX as I dont really use this laptop that much, just mostly for recording DJ sets at the events I promote and to stream movies and TV shows and MUSIC from my server when im home.

I got the virus from a KEYGEN for ADOBE PHOTSHOP CS2 v9.0 that was on my DVD I didnt know about. Stupid me clicked IGNORE when it poped up becuase I coudlnt figure where it was coming from until after everything went bad and I started lookin around.

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
    ~Matthew

i was actually going through it while you posted that.... i ran all the tools, installed, spyware, SD,

still same problem and i just rebooted from safemode 10 seconds ago and that damn window popped up when i went to this thread.

only thing i didnt do is run them all in regular windows mode, but thast becuase i figure safemode is better to do everything since it doesnt run any livetime monitoring programs that i know of, that way i wouldnt have to go turn them all off one by one... or do i still ahve to do that? becuae in safemode i didnt turn anythign off, they werent running as i could see in the systray

im gonna go through the entire steps becuase yeah the last couple steps i didnt see cuz they were down further and it looked like it was done

if you can tell me what step you believe would be the cause of this specific problem that would be awesome.

I beileve that the complete 15 steps is for removeing anything and everything from your computer. I just want this one problem as its the only one i have on a brand new fresh install i just did on this machine.

    thank you

    Superantispyware

This product used to be on those prelim. instructions, I think. Not sure why they would have removed it though. Anyway, this product has detected malware that SSD, CCleaner, and others have missed, on two different occasions. Download, install, and run this http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Let me know how is goes.

dgower2, i dont ever recall seeing that on the prelim instructions, but i have seen it recommended in other help topics.

and just so all of you know, i have done the same thing from limewire, was downloading a crack file. be aware though, if the file is called "Crack.exe", most likely in a .zip archive most of the time, there is a 99% chance its a virus. i have never seen a Crack.exe not be a virus. so before you do anything with a file downloaded from limewire (or anywhere else, to be safe) right click it before you run or open it and click "scan with..." where the "..." would be replaced with whatever antivirus you use lol.

well good luck, and lol i think im havin a problem of my own right now. i posted a hjt log cuz my net is slow as no tomorrow. (different topic though, of course)

dgower2 - can you please let me know what parts of the HJT log i need to get rid of, I need this lappy ready to go by next wednesday for a concert im promoting. The music needs to be recorded and I dont want this thing bogged down by malware etc to have to be reloaded afterwards. I just want these popups gone without having to reformat.

    cheers

    Matt,

Sorry for the delayed response, and double-sorry that I'm not knowledgable about HJT logs (what to get rid of).

If anyone else who reads this is skilled with discerning the bad and good in HJT logs, please help Matt here.

    Thanks

    Bedlam,

Have you tried reading existing HJT log posts to see what items people were told to get rid of? There's got to be hundreds of HJT log posts in this forum. I hate to say this, but there are a lot of other tech forums that will help you with your log. I wish I could tell you which items to delete.

    Dan
