As a newbie, I hope I'm not being too presumptuous in posting this. Maybe what I'm suggesting already exists and I just haven't seen it because I've been having too much fun trawling through the forum posts.

I'm not sure what a sticky is, but I'm guessing that it is a resource post likely to be of permanent value to the forum. On that assumption I would like to recommend the 2 following articles.

The 1st describes how to recover WinXP from a great many common, and usually fatal, situations, very simply and without data loss.
The 2nd, perhaps of less interest to many, is an introduction to viewing and interpreting the contents of mini dumps.

They are:-
(1)http://short-media.com/review.php?r=313 The article is entitled 'Repairing WindowsXP in Eight Commands.

(2)http://www.networkworld.com/news/2005/041105-windows-crash.html

If I'm wrong about what constitutes a sticky, I apologise, but I think that a constantly expanding post of this sort, contributed to by all, reviewed by the administrators, would be a valuable resource - a sort of forum Wikipedia.
