I'm still not getting a definite answer about this question.....

  1. Will different brands of memory with the exact same specs run in dual channel "fine"? So far all the answers I get is 55% yes and 35% no, and 10% that are of no help at all.

SO here it goes, will different brands work in dual channel? I need to know before I buy.

    Any help appreciated.

Use the same brand, specs, and speed memory in pairs, or better yet buy some good quality "matched pair" dual memory sets

There's your definite answer... Just maybe, you don't want to hear a definite answer

I just recently researched this here and elsewhere and that is the same answer I came up with. If you don't I have heard of there being stability problems and such. Or just not working. Just 2 cents of a newbie.

The problem isnt so much the RAM but the motherboard. Ive always mixed brands with no problems but some brands of boards wont work with some brands of RAM. Check with your motherboard manufacturer and see if they have a list of approved or tested RAM.

You can run any type of memory but they won't be truly running dual memory
