    Hi all,
i've recently met the challenge of networking a imac laptop and a toshiba laptop and this has caused some minor confusion. i would have assumed to set the IP addresses in the same domain (ie: 192.168.0.1 &192.168.0.2 or something) would have worked. Has anyone managed to do this? is there S/W i need to do it?

    Cheers

    Cian

First off - no such thing as an iMac laptop - but what are you trying to do with these two machines? Do you want to be able to exchange files? What OSes are running on them? If you're running OS 9 or earlier on the Mac then you'll need something like PC/Mac LAN to exchange files with the PC - unless you're running 2K Server or 2K3 Server. If you have one of those server OSes then you can set up the File Sharing for Macintosh service.

Perhaps give this thread a look and see if that doesn't help you out.
