In need of an upgrade, could use some expert advice

  1. Hey guys, I've left my PC untouched since i got it built a good two years ago. Back then, the parts were pretty much up to scratch to run most games at a pretty damn decent quality. However, i feel as if i've put off getting an upgrade too long, leaving my computer in dire need of some TLC!

I want to focus on picking up a new graphics card(s) first.
Currently running 2x ATI Radeon 1900XT 512mb in crossfire.

Can any of you guys reccommend a powerful, up-to-date ATI card at a price range around £100-£200 which would easily out-match those two?

    Thanks alot in advance!

This is the best you can get in that price range. For ~£30 more, you can get this card instead, which comes with a better cooler.

    Terrific mate!
    Thanks for your help!

This might seem like a no-brainer, but would the 512mb HD 4870 really out-do my 2x1900XTs running combined at 1gig? I mean like, would there be a great improvement performance wise? :x

    Thanks again guys.

A single HD 4870 will outperform the two X1900XTs for sure and also draw less power, besides being quieter. Check out the link below for a comparison of the two configurations (copy and paste it into your browser without the brackets).
