In need of some Video Card Upgrading advice

Ok, so my computer is getting pretty old and I am looking to do some upgrading. I am using an Asus A7S333 Mobo with 266Mhz FSB and a 2x,4X AGP slot. Currently I have an Athlon 2100+XP with 768MB of 2700RAM. My video card is a Radeon 9000 64MB.

I'd really like to extend the gamelife of my computer. I can run CS:Source on low-medium detail with a decent ping but that seems to be my limit. So I have 2 questions.

1)What would be my best bet on a video card without my FSB bottlenecking?

2) Would it be worth it to upgrade my CPU to a 2800+ XP?

My budget is limited so I wouldn't be putting any high end cards in. This would be my last update before I bite the bullet and get a new one. Any help would be appreciated.

if i were you i would upgrade the motherboard and not the CPU.
1. Because your motherboard only supports upto 4x AGP and
2. Because if you want to upgrade your CPU, you may need a new mobo to support the CPU. try http://www.bizrate.com/marketplace/product_info/details__cat_id--419,prod_id--245630245.html for details on a good motherboard.

If you don't buy a new motherboard then i suggest saving your money, just buy a new graphics card for the time being, like the nVidia GeForce 6600GT for AGP. Use it for a few months then when you buy your whole new pc, you can buy a motherboard with an nForce 3 chipset that supports AGP.

Yeah either upgrade your motherboard and get a 6600GT
or
grab a 6600GT anyways and use that.
The first option will give you much better performance.

It is definetly not worth it to buy a 2800+ XP. If you want a new processor and mobo you should look into an 939 pin mobo that will support an athlon 64 90nm processor. You can find a good combo for around $200.00.

With that combo you'll be able to get an AGP 8x card. But if your budget is limited right now I would just get a 6600GT or if you want to spend $40.00 more a 6800.

Yeah like everyone said get a new motherboard; and if you want it to last get a new proccessor, You should just spend a little more and get this instead of update one more time. It will be cheaper in the long run

How are you on memory you should make sure that you have at least 512 mb but I recomend 1 gb

Get this and you should see a huge jump in proformance

Thanks for the advice guys. I was hoping I could squeeze a little more time outta my 2100XP but you guys pretty much confirmed what I was denying. I think I'll just make do with what I have for now and just wait till I can afford a new computer.
