hey Techspot community,

this is my first time posting on this forum and i am stuck with an extremely irritating problem i tend to do a complete system virus scan every day using Zone Alarm anti-virus and i keep coming up with this virus which has seemed to be attached to various files on my computer it is called not-a-virus(there is more of a file name attached to that but unfortunatly i keep deleting the files because i am unable to repair/clean them) also im getting another trojan which is called Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Small.ddp and it keeps being detected on my system since they have been detected my pc has been running quite slowly and programs will run with extreme lag (only games seem to do this and even that only happens maybe once every 3 or 4 times i use a game)

could someone please tell me an effective way to remove these infections as they are a tiresome waste of my time continually removing them

thanks,

Deadkandy

Hello and welcome to TechSpot!

Please go and read this and then post a fresh HijackThis log as an attachment into this thread. That will help us better understand the infections on your system so that we can clean them.

Regards :)

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I can`t see anything particularly nasty in your HJT log. However, this doesn`t necessarily mean your system is clean, as HJT won`t show all infections that may be present.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
