I have an MSI mobo with a simple set up - 1 x hdd, - there is no PSU problem! 480Watt antec

it has worked unchanged for 1 year. Yesterday I went to check it after it was on all day. Blank screen at first i thought the screen connector had sliped out.

On reboot the D Bracket shows it is hanging at initialising chipset.

Do you suspect my mobo is dead. It cant be over 2 years old!

Info I found says "Initialize Chipset: Failure of this test is probably due to the (failure of the) timer chip".

:(

Yes- mobos go bad. Usually because of bad or failing PSUs. MSI carries a 3 year warranty on most boards. RMA it and also replace the PSU.
