Install Win XP on new HD

Hello all. I'm trying to install Win XP on a new HD. The HD has been formatted and ready to go but when I reboot with XP disc I get "Insert disc press any key to continue..." and nothing happens.

Granted, it's an old unit (PIII, 800mhz). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

are you using a usb keyboard? sometimes it might not work until you've installed usb drivers for dos

also are you entering the boot menu or changed the bios to boot from the cd drive?

I didn't do anything with the BIOS. Good thought, I'll give it a shot.
