Install XP AFTER 98

Hi
I am not technically based and have searched for an answer but didn't understand half of what I found.
At present I run 98SE with two hard drives and would like to add XP in such a way that I can select which OS at boot.
Scared to start again as prob not able to find all the software I run on 98, so want to migrate to XP slowly.
Any help gratefully appreciated
Thanks
Peter

When you install XP, it will automatically create the required boot-menu.
Install XP in a different partition from W98, or even on the second harddisk if you like.
If XP is an upgrade version, you can still install on a different partition/harddisk. At some time during an upgrade- install you may be asked for proof of a previous Windows. Just stick in your W95/W98/ME/W2K CD, when XP approves, put the XP CD back in and continue.
Alternatively, installing XP over W98 will keep all your W98 programs as well.
It is more advisable however, to install from scratch.
