Hello Could someone please explain to me how to install a new hard drive.

I just got a new 320gb hard drive. What i want to do is make that my primary hard drive and take my old 160 hard drive and make that my secondary hard drive. How do i move all of the information and how do i go about doing all of it?

Thanks

you can try seagate disc wizard to copy the active boot disc and all
if sata I don't know if you will have issues I have done with ide and scsi drives always worked
stay away from norton products, my opinion
first put the drive in as slave use disc wizard to format the way you want ntfs file system
a drive that big
2 to 3 partitions
2 works fine
first one is a 10 to 20 gb for OS and stuff that can't be moved
the rest your choice
keep the partition limit dwn
then use wizard to copy the c drive over to the new partition you will use
follow the prompts as to how you want to proceed
I would remove the old one before the next boot
if the boot goes ok then install old drive 2d channel
you can erase the os from this drive or archive it
now some programs may not work as drive letters have moved around
this can be fixed for most part by re-assigning drive letters
