Just purchased a 200 GB SATA drive to replace my IDE drive. what do i do?
just copy all the data and then set it as the primary drive? the C: drive?
will it just boot to that drive after the data is transfered or is there somthing else that i have to do.
OS = WinXPro
Old HD 60GB IDE
New HD 200GB SATA

Depends on what do you man by "copy all the data". Copying the files under Windows will not do - you have to use some disk cloning software to do it.

Depending on what brand your new hard drive is you could find a drive migration tool on the manufacturers website if you didn't already get a CD with the drive itself.

it is a Western Digital Drive. i thought that copying would not work i will check there web site now thanks.
