Installing vista over vista??!!

  1. hi folks.

    quick question: (just a small part of an even bigger problem)

    if i install vista on a drive with vista already on it, do i lose the data / files already on that drive?

    (some internet adapters appear to not work any more)....

    thanks. i'll check back about 4 uk time.

    It should inform you that the old installation with its files will be moved to \Windows.old, so no, you don't lose data - unless there's no free space for the new installation.

    Nope, you keep all your files unless Vista thinks that it wants more memory.
