Installing Windows on a Usb Drive

  1. Since the Laptop is not booting the CD First. I have this 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure kit. So i hook the hard drive up to my computer through usb. I tried installing Windows like that but it is not letting me. Is there a way to do it like this. DO i need some special program. Thanks!!!!!

    why is it not booting the CD first? Did you change the settings in BIOS?

    Boot into bios and select CD boot first. hold down the f1 or del key (most computers) when booting up. This should get you into bios. don't play with settings you're not familar with.

    your motherboard and bios would have to support booting from a USB device in order to boot from an external USB drive.
