Installing XP Without Floppy Or CDROM Drive?

  1. I have a Dell L400 laptop and i have just bought a new 60gb HDD for it.
I need to install XP on it, i have a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter that i have bought but i need to know how to install DOS onto the HDD so i can boot to DOS and then install XP that i have copied across to the laptop HDD.

I have no partitions on the drive, also i have a Creative 6gb MP3 Player that can be used as an external drive, so i could install windows from that if i can work out how to use a USB device, either to boot from or to use in DOS.

If anyone can give me a hand i would be most grateful, also i have Acronis Partition Expert to format the Laptop HDD with.
