Integrated Sound not Working

Yesterday I formatted my computer and installed Windows XP SP3 Professional and everything was going fine until I found out that the sound wasn't working. I installed everything correctly and installed the latest sound drivers but the speakers still don't work. I have a Gatway 507GR desktop computer and the driver manufacturer is Realtek.

What I have done so far:

• Installed sound drivers
• Checked if onboard audio was enabled in the BIOS
• Tried two sets of speakers

What else can I do? The sound was working perfectly before I formatted? Please help!

Did you install audio driver from the motherboard cd ?
If not first install audio driver from motherboard cd, realtek drivers do not work without driver from the motherboard cd.
