When does penryn desktop processors going to be released?

Intel's CEO, Paul Otellini said that the 45nm chipsets would appear in: "server and high-end desktop products," during Q1 2008. He didn't expand further on the point.

Yea thats what i heard as well,i got like 800 bucks or so saved up for the 3.0 quad version an i want to figure out exactly when it is coming out,the money is itching me to spend it lol.

yea i checked asus.com my mobo supports penryn they released a list of which boards do.

Well from a japanese site i seen it seems penryn won't come out until jan,the only penryn processor being released in nov is the 999 one which is the 3.0 version..

im about to bulid a new computer and i want to wait until the penryn E5420 comes out, i will be using an EVGA 680i A1 motherboard. will the stock BIOS work long enough to install windows and flash the BIOS

Not to sure about evga but if you have a asus board they already have info on the boards that will work on penryn etc.
