Only 20 percent of Mac owners surveyed reported detecting a virus in the past two years, compared with 66 percent of Windows PC owners. Just 8 percent of Mac users reported a spyware infection in the last six months vs. 54 percent of Windows PC users.

Yet somehow others say Mac OS X: Virus-free -- For Now.

So either 20% of Mac users surveyed are using OS9 or older, discovered a macrovirus in Office documents, or can't tell what is a virus and what's not. Or both articles are wrong.

I've read about almost nonexistant OSX spyware, but I can't tell if it exists or not.

Is this talking about thin affiliates, real ads, or what?
 
The last infected windows boxes I saw were infested with java virii and wormz.
Java is so very secure.
