Sorry, just noticed I didn't do your 8 steps first, I'll go ahead with that. If you want to delete this message please do so and I'll post a new one after I have competed the 8 steps.
Problem: When doing google or yahoo searches I'm frequently taken to another site when I click on a link via the search, though when I do it a second time it does take me to the correct link.
Browser: Mozilla Firefox
Operating System: Windows XP
McAfee is my paid for virus checker and is fairly worthless.
I have malwarebtyes installed on system and SuperAnti Spyware, both free versions, up to date, and when I run them for a full system check which takes about 4 or 5 hours each, they isolated some spy ware and remove it but the problem of the redirects remain.
The following is the last full scan I ran with SuperAnti Spyware on 1/31
