Sorry, just noticed I didn't do your 8 steps first, I'll go ahead with that. If you want to delete this message please do so and I'll post a new one after I have competed the 8 steps. Problem: When doing google or yahoo searches I'm frequently taken to another site when I click on a link via the search, though when I do it a second time it does take me to the correct link. Browser: Mozilla Firefox Operating System: Windows XP McAfee is my paid for virus checker and is fairly worthless. I have malwarebtyes installed on system and SuperAnti Spyware, both free versions, up to date, and when I run them for a full system check which takes about 4 or 5 hours each, they isolated some spy ware and remove it but the problem of the redirects remain. The following is the last full scan I ran with SuperAnti Spyware on 1/31 SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log http://www.superantispyware.com Generated 01/31/2010 at 06:19 PM Application Version : 4.33.1000 Core Rules Database Version : 4541 Trace Rules Database Version: 2353 Scan type : Complete Scan Total Scan Time : 04:57:18 Memory items scanned : 258 Memory threats detected : 0 Registry items scanned : 5921 Registry threats detected : 0 File items scanned : 113771 File threats detected : 5 Adware.Tracking Cookie C:\Documents and Settings\Diana\Cookies\firstname.lastname@example.org C:\Documents and Settings\Diana\Cookies\email@example.com C:\Documents and Settings\Diana\Cookies\firstname.lastname@example.org Adware.Unknown Origin C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\OMUF\OMUFD\CLASS-BARREL C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\OMUF\OMUFD\VOCABULARY Any help is appreciated.
